Natuurlijke 'medicijnen' naast bètablokkers

  U geeft aan dat u natuurlijke middelen wilt gaan gebruiken, maar het is mij niet duidelijke voor welke klachten. Dat maakt het lastiger om een zinvol antwoord te geven.In ieder geval kan het gebruik van visolie naast bètablokkers geen kwaad.Over ginkgo weet ik te weinig. Het lijkt mij dat bètablokkers gebruikt kunnen worden naast dit middel, maar tegelijkertijd wil ik u het volgende meegeven (citaat uit het jaarrapport 2007 van het RIVM (Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu):'Ginkgo bilobaMany herbal preparations contain Ginkgo biloba leafextract, derived from a species of nut tree found in Japanand China. Manufacturers of Ginkgo biloba preparationsclaim that the extract stimulates blood circulation andmemory function and reduces symptoms of ageing. In2007 RIVM investigated the scientific foundations ofthose claims, examining them by EU criteria. Insufficientevidence was found to uphold the claims. In addition,analysis indicated that many of the preparations tested donot contain the ingredients listed on the label. Since fewdata are available on the toxicity of Ginkgo biloba, it is asyet impossible to state what quantity of the substance issafe for use.'Op basis van de huidige reguliere medische kennis over ginkgo; geen bewezen effect en onduidelijkheid over juiste dosis en veiligheid, raad ik u het gebruik van dit middel niet aan!
